Shirley T’s - Authentic American Comfort Food with Generous Portions in Danville, VA

In from NC for a quick trip, found Shirley T’s across from the Marriott. What a great find. Tired of fast food chain finds, this is the place. Generous portions, plentiful selections. Collards, Mac and cheese, yams, oxtail and cubed steak was our voices. All were really well done.

Meat loaf was fantastic! Fried chicken was the best we ever had! All the sides were delicious and the portions were huge! Friendly staff and prices were good too! Everyone must go to Shirley T’s and enjoy their amazing food!

Ate here for the first time today and from the gospel music blasting outside I already knew I was in for a treat. This cafeteria style restaurants uses fresh ingredients DAILY with a daily changing menu to match. The customer service from the man who assisted me was unmatched. He had a beautiful spirit! Let’s get to the food. I had a turkey wing plate with rice, mac, and greens. The serving size was very large for $21, I got two large wings, and great size for the a sides. Drink was included and the sweet tea was excellent! My only complaint was the greens, they almost tasted canned. I didn’t see Ca any fatback meat or anything in mine either. Lacked so much flavor. I’d also suggest working on the replies to negative comments, some of the replies made me almost not visit this establishment. Customer service is always number one. Overall the person I interacted with was great tho.

I don't have the words to describe how good the food and service is at this restaurant. Our ONLY complaint is that we wanted to return to eat there again on the day we left town, unfortunately it was a Monday, and they were closed.

The food was great, the portions were very healthy. The restaurant & food line were all very clean & tidy.

My son took me to Shirley T’s today for Thanksgiving Dinner. Best food I have eaten in a very long time. I had sweet cornbread, green beans cooked with ham, macaroni and cheese, yams and Best Banana Pudding Ever!

After visiting the casino, this place popped up so we had to check it out. Portions were plentiful and the food was yummy. You're basically getting two meals for the price. If you're in the area, make sure to check them out

So we were driving through and wanted some good soul food. Little did we know we would find AMAZING!!! Omg Shirley T’s is absolute perfection!!!! We had catfish, fried chicken, meatloaf mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, collard greens, cabbage and of course cornbread!!! Was it good? No it was not, it was AMAZING so delicious! Everything was so flavorful and seasoned to perfection! The catfish and fried chicken are made to order nice and fresh and the corn bread had just come out too and every bite we took was an explosion of wonderful flavors in our mouths! The sweet tea was great they have delicious dessert options and to top it all off the entire staff was so warm and friendly. They truly do a wonderful job not only maintaining such a well run business but also making sure everyone is satisfied and that we were! Clean, delicious and friendly… 10 stars if I could!
